About UF Housing

The University of Florida is a major land-grant research university. The state’s oldest and most comprehensive institution, UF is among the nation’s most academically diverse public universities. As the providers of UF’s innovative and flexible housing options since 1906, the UF Department of Housing Residence Education (UF DOHRE) is consistently updating facilities to ensure the highest quality of on-campus lodging for our valued residents and guests. Housing and Residence Education’s mission is to provide well-maintained, community-oriented facilities where residents and staff are empowered to learn, innovate, and succeed.

UF DOHRE employs a staff of hundreds to operate our buildings and provide outstanding customer service to our guests. The proximity of our residence halls alongside classrooms, food service, and meeting space allows our guests to truly experience the atmosphere of the Gator Nation.

The University of Florida is surrounded by a plethora of outdoor opportunities for recreation. Gainesville is a mecca of culture as well, offering great local restaurants and breweries as well as the Florida Museum of Natural History and the Hippodrome State Theatre. There really is something for everyone!
